This project began with a need to understand the process of bio-fabrication by harnessing the potential of micro-organisms such as bacteria and yeast by converting it into a complex structure that can be processed later. The project also explores the characteristics and properties of this newly created material. The purpose is to encourage the conversations around sustainability and alternative materials to evoke empathy in the audiences for the environment we live in.
This thesis displays a series of explorations of the material created that reveal its possibilities and future applications.
